Gretchen and Leyton purchased AgRecord in August 2013 with the purpose of developing it into a global supplier of on farm communication systems between farm staff and management. Cloud Farmer was Gretchen's inception and today she is still the driving force behind the company, although with the arrival of baby Georgia in March 2016 she now has a bit of a juggle on her hands. Gretchen has a background in marketing and business development, and has extensive experience in the Agri Industry having worked in a wide variety of roles ranging from shepherding in the South Island High Country, through to importing NZ lamb into Northern Europe, marketing wine, and working as a farm recruitment consultant.

Leyton runs a progressive sheep and beef operation near Porangahau, Central Hawke's Bay. Leyton is a typical farmer in that he's super busy, his staff are based at the opposite side of the farm, and he's keen to make use of technology but until AgRecord he'd had limited experience with it. He embraced his role of Head Guinea Pig so much that he's now joined the sales team on a part time basis and there's a good chance you'll see him spinning a yarn at trade shows or extolling the benefits of Cloud Farmer at a discussion day.
