Beef + Lamb have recently launched the B+LNZ Farm Safety Support Programme. It includes plans and procedures you can customise to create a Safety Management System for your farm, workshops, information on updates to regulations and stories about lessons learnt. Gretchen was lucky enough to attend one of their pilot workshops and it was great – practical, non-scaremongering, designed in conjunction with Worksafe, and best of all FREE! The resources are great, but we’d really encourage you to attend one of their workshops. Even if you have a H&S plan, it’d be worth going along and brushing up on a few details as it seems that a few things have changed and it’s good to keep up to date with the changes.

Whats the benefit to users of Cloud Farmer? Users can put these resources directly onto their Cloud Farmer system and replicate the H&S records in there, meaning it’s all kept in one place and super easy to access and update. Also if you have an absentee owner, stakeholder or even a staff member who is based on another block, you can log on and check their records are up to date. One more thing not to worry about!
For new users, our template has been adjusted to match the B+L system, including having all the resources on there. For existing users, you can add the resources you want.
Done the course but still want a hand setting everything up on Cloud Farmer and implementing it within your farm? Well luckily that’s a service we can offer! Dave Duncan is our health & safety man so give him a call or drop him a line and he can help you. dave@agrecord.co.nz 022 150 9680.
Can’t make or already missed the workshop in your area? Contact your Area Manager – roumour has it that if they get enough demand they can run more!
How your Cloud Farmer Health & Safety page may look – you can even add pictures of hazards to it!
